the pilot program in 1995 and has approved a number of applications
and agreements for Mentor-Protégé relationships. The convening of this
conference provides for enhanced discussion of program features and
benefits while highlighting successful relationships.

Recognition of outstanding Protégé firms, sessions that will help build
the program and provide necessary guidance to new relationships, and
the presentation of the Goldin-Stokes Mentor-Protégé Award for 1999.
Many of NASA's top prime contractors are current program participants.

The "Commitment
to Excellence" Award is presented by the NASA New England Outreach Center
and commends effort that furthers procurement opportunities and
technology achievements that benefit businesses and organizations in
New England, New Jersey, and New York.
Awards will be presented
at a gala reception on Tuesday evening, August 10, 1999 at the Sheraton
Ferncroft Hotel in Danvers, Massachusetts. Businesses, organizations,
institutions, or individuals will be recognized in each of the following
catagories:
Category:
(1) Small Business (2) Small Disadvantaged Business (3) Small Women-Owned
Business (4) Historically Black College, University, or Other Minority
Institution.
Criteria: Outstanding effort as a NASA prime contractor,
or subcontractor or in a related technology achievement during fiscal
year 1999
Category: (5) Large Business (6) NASA Field Center Criteria:
Outstanding effort in support of NASA's Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization program in procurement or technology programs during the
fiscal year 1999 Category: (7) Industry Advocate (8) Government Advocate
Criteria: Outstanding individual effort in support of NASA's
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization program during fiscal year
1999

Procedure:
Nomination evaluations will be based on review of narrative content.

of business, 5:00pm EDT July 2,1999. Award recipients will be notified

rate reservations must be made by July 23,1999. Conference rate is available
for August 7-11, 1999. After July 23, reservations are subject to available
